Feeling slightly overwhelmed yesterday and needing to get away, I left the kiddo with Daddy and took myself to the hell that is Walmart. The trip was fine and I got all of what we needed, except for the water to make her bottles...what store runs out of distilled water?
Anyway, I told myself that on my way home I would do the right thing and stop and fill up the car with gas so he doesn't have to stop tomorrow and we could use our fuel discount points before they expire. Along that route I decided to do something that I haven't done in a long time - go through the car wash.
When I was little I used to love the car wash, specifically when the auto wash would dispense the soap in different colors on the wind shield and somehow it would make the car smell of a combination of bubble gum and fake fruit scented air freshener. Then I would get all sorts of freaked out by the big octopus arms that smothered the car to scrub it but was still always fun. I haven't been to a car wash in years that still uses those big octopus squeegee arms because they are now all touchless but I still remember those silly blue arms.
I realized that, in all my grumpy gussness, the multi-colored soap squiggles made me smile so big. Who knew a $5 car wash was so powerful.

The carwash I go to still has the silly blue octopus arms! And I took photos! :-D http://i.imgur.com/gsXYrYQ.jpg
