It's hip to be square

I understand the need to have cribs in the shape of a rectangle or oval. You need to be able to actually reach your little critters for their needs and whatnot. But my little critter is not best suited for these shapes.

I put her to bed in as much of the middle as I can so that whichever way she decides to roll she can and she won't end up face against the bars. Somehow, she ends up wiggling around like a worm that has had its head, or tail for that matter, cut off and goes all sorts of squirrely. She starts out parallel to the longest side of her crib and ends up perpendicular slamming her feet up against the sides. She doesn't fully wake up. I do. I wake up and end up staying awake trying to decide if I should go in there and move her and risk truly waking her or just let her keep squirreling out a little until she rights herself.

So yes, my child sleeps through the night. I do not. And I want a square crib.  I want to be square.

  1. She would still find a way to cram herself into the bars. It's what they do. They don't like us to sleep. If we get a full night's sleep, we are less discombobulated and therefore not as easily tricked into giving in to whatever they have planned for the next day. They're sneaky. Always sneaking one step ahead.
