Catching Up

The last week and a half has been a little nuts in our house. Going back to Mother's Day, I had a really great wake up to breakfast in bed with my baby girl and my two furry kids. I came out to the kitchen after finishing up only to be greeted by the dining room table covered in my favorite things:
Beautiful flowers to hang and sit all over the front deck to bring in the beautiful heat seeking missels that are the Rocky Mountain area hummingbirds, my favorite junk food and two movies, a gift certificate to have my nails done and a hooded sweatshirt representing our town's high school - the cougars. He told me that not only will I be a sexy cougar (because I'm not old enough to be one yet) but that it was also to celebrate that our girl gets to grow up in such an amazing place with an amazing mom. Yeah... Daddy nailed Mother's Day.

A few short days after Mother's Day, our servers at work crashed and we were all but cut off from the rest of the business world. This worked out in my favor because my poor little Lylabug had to go get her 4 month shots. The first time around she got shots, she was lethargic and a teenie bit warm after. This time, she had the shots on a Wednesday and stayed home with me for the rest of the week... screaming and fussing and not sleeping well at all during the night. Poor baby had a tough adjustment to this last round but we all made it through and managed to get our sanity back.

Last week, my gal pal that watches Buggie during the day took the week off with her family to drive back to Indiana to visit family so I had her home with me all day long all week. This is normally not a problem because we can get outside and going for a walk gives us all a break from the cabin fever and the fresh air tires her out and re-energizes me. It rained for nearly the entire week.... straight... with no sun. We were both getting on each other's nerves and getting ready to lose it and then the sun came out and we came out of it stronger.

By the time the weekend rolled around Daddy was able to actually be home for a holiday long weekend and the sun came out long enough each day where we were able to get outside and go hiking and for Lyla to have her first bike ride. You can totally tell that Lyla enjoyed having both her parents home and happy and all doing things together because she was just an absolute angel all freakin weekend.

Cut to today when we all go back to the real world and Buggie goes back to hanging with the gals down the street and Mama takes off on a plane to somewhere else again. I have to admit that over her fussy and insane screeching time I was wishing this trip to come faster. I just wanted to fall asleep and get some alone time and recharge. As the date got closer and I ended up having such amazing family time, I convinced myself that I still really needed/wanted this trip and that all I wanted was to order pizza and sit in my PJ's in front of the TV in my hotel bed and stuff that pizza into my ever loving menstrually induced fat face.

Well, I am in NC. I ordered the pizza. Stuffed it in my ever loving menstrually fueled fat face all while watching TV in bed. And I regret it. All of the pizza and alone time can't be as satisfying as being with that goofy little girl. Needless to say, I can't wait to get home. Who could want to be away from this face??
