On Top of The World

Greetings from my ride or die budz!

Gumby, Pokey, and I had the awesome adventure of going to the great city of Seattle. It was actually pretty nice out, aside from a little bit of wind, and we got to walk down by the waterfront and stopped at a few fun pubs along the way. Then we took a detour inland and up the steep streets of Seattle and went to the Space Needle. At the Space Needle, they have a revolving restaurant… which I ate at! The food was out of this world and the views were amazing too. We ended up being able to have dinner right at the perfect time for sunset to occur over the mountains and the city. Gumby and Pokey were too afraid to have their picture taken that high up, so they opted for a more scripted background.

Despite my lackluster human traveling companion on this trip, the views and the opportunity to be in Oregon and Washington did allow me to put things in perspective.

It brought to mind a chorus in an Imagine Dragons tune – On Top of The World

I've had the highest mountains
I've had the deepest rivers
You can have it all but life keeps moving
I take it in but don't look down

'Cause I'm on top of the world, eh
I'm on top of the world, eh
Been waiting on this for a while now
Paying my dues to the dirt
I've been waiting to smile, eh
Been holding it in for a while, eh
Take you with me if I can
Been dreaming of this since a child
I'm on top of the world.

I've tried to cut these corners
Try to take the easy way out
I kept on falling short of something
I coulda gave up then but
Then again I couldn't have cause
I've traveled all this way for something
I take it in but don't look down

'Cause I'm on top of the world, eh
I'm on top of the world, eh
Been waiting on this for a while now
Paying my dues to the dirt
I've been waiting to smile, eh
Been holding it in for a while, eh
Take you with me if I can
Been dreaming of this since a child
I'm on top of the world.
